Regenerative Biomaterials Company, Dimension Inx, Forms Advisory Board

Dimension Inx, a regenerative biomaterials company, announces the formation of its Advisory Board, adding recognized experts in regenerative medicine, 3D printing, and cell biology to its growing team.

Among others, the inaugural group includes Andy Christensen, a pioneer in the medical 3D-printing industry; Derek Steinbacher, D.M.D., M.D., a forward-thinking surgeon and specialist in craniomaxillofacial surgery; and Doris Taylor, Ph.D., a visionary expert in regenerative therapies.

Dimension Inx develops regenerative medical products, leveraging its next-gen biomaterials platform to create 3D-printed bioscaffolds for therapeutic use. These bioscaffolds are comprised of key ingredients in a specific architecture that catalyze tissue repair upon implantation in the body. The company uniquely focuses on designing tissue microenvironments that provide necessary signals for healthy cell growth and development.

Andy Christensen has spent his entire career developing and expanding the medical applications of additive manufacturing, also known as 3D-printing. He was the founder and president of Medical Modeling Inc., a medical device-focused 3D-printing service bureau acquired by 3D Systems in 2014. He is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa, in the leadership of the RSNA Special Interest Group on 3D Printing, and advisor and board member to a number of enterprises in the healthcare sector.

Derek Steinbacher, D.M.D., M.D., is Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chief of Dentistry, and Director of Craniofacial Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine. He is a board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, specializing in cleft, craniofacial, and maxillofacial surgery. His research encompasses tissue engineering and regeneration, distraction osteogenesis, and 3D analysis and planning. Dr. Steinbacher’s guidance has been instrumental in the development of Dimension Inx’s lead product for maxillofacial bone reconstruction.

Doris Taylor, Ph.D., DSc (H), is a pioneer in cardiovascular regenerative medicine, credited with a number of important scientific breakthroughs related to cell and gene therapy, stem cell biology, and tissue engineering. She has held appointments at Duke University Medical Center, University of Minnesota Medical School, Texas Heart Institute, Texas A&M University, and Rice University. Doris is also an accomplished entrepreneur and co-founder of MiroMatrix Medical.
