Stryker executed a binding offer to Menix to acquire SERF, a France-based joint replacement company. The proposed acquisition is expected to close during 1Q24, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
With a legacy of over 50 years, SERF is recognized by healthcare professionals worldwide for its innovations in hip implants, including the invention of the original Dual Mobility Cup. This acquisition would complement Stryker’s existing presence in France and across Europe as well as its global joint replacement portfolio, allowing Stryker to serve a wider range of patients.
The MENIX Group formed in 2008, as a French holding company with brands in orthopedics, dental implants and craniomaxillofacial surgery. In 2009, SERF joined the MENIX Group. In 2014, SERF Extremity was created, a subsidiary distributing orthopedic implants for the foot.
In late 2021, SERF acquired the Madison knee from Implanet, complementing SERF’s unicompartmental Uni KROMA range.
