Oxford Performance Materials announced an agreement with Fuse Medical to develop new spinal, extremity and sports medicine implant product lines utilizing OPM’s patented OsteoFab PEKK technology.
The agreement between the companies enables Fuse to develop new cervical and lumbar spinal interbodies, soft tissue fixation devices for sports medicine, and other foot and ankle implants featuring OPM’s proprietary 3D printing IP, delivering a set of clinical benefits to the surgeon that are unique to the OsteoFab technology. Fuse will be the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the new product lines, which OPM will exclusively contract manufacture.
“As OPM focuses on providing advanced implantable polymers and contract manufacturing services, we look to work with industry leaders that are dedicated to innovative solutions that drive medical device technology forward in ways that reduce system costs and improve patient outcomes,” said Scott DeFelice, founder and CEO, OPM. “Fuse clearly fits this mold, and we are extremely pleased to be making this important partnership announcement.”
Fuse CEO Chris Reeg said the new collaboration continues the company’s mission to develop unique, differentiated products and technologies with breakout potential. Over the past year, Fuse has developed a scientific understanding of OPM’s OsteoFab PEKK technology, and its team is excited about developing new product lines featuring OsteoFab’s set of clinical benefits.
