Acrotec Expands Medical Division with Mebus MIM-Technik

Acrotec Acquires Mebus

Mebus MIM-Technik will strengthen the Acrotec Group’s Medtech division.

Headquartered in Neuhausen, Germany, Mebus MIM-Technik was founded 20 years ago by Michael Mebus. Since then, the company has developed into a specialist for metal/ceramic injection molding (MIM/CIM) technology with a particular focus and expertise in the design and variable scale production of small, complex parts with very tight tolerances.

Certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485:2016, the company serves as a strategic supplier to leading medical technology companies. Its products include small, single-use high-end surgical products such as surgical instruments, components for waterjet surgery or screws for orthodontic treatment.

“The acquisition of Mebus is a perfect fit for us to expand Acrotec Medtech’s skills with real experts in their field,” explains Sébastien Virtel, CEO of the Medtech division of the Acrotec Group. “The level of mastery of this company’s MIM and CIM injection technologies allows us to accelerate our development in robotic surgery and endoscopy with complex single-use components, in perfect complementarity with our companies active in precision machining. Together with Friedrich Daniels, we are also strengthening our presence in Germany and our expertise in the medical device sector with this acquisition.“

“Joining the Acrotec Group is great news for the company I have been building and growing for almost 20 years,” says Michael Mebus, CEO of Mebus. “At a time when the question of my succession is being raised, it is a great opportunity to join a group that, thanks to its wide range of products and skills, remarkably complements Mebus as a holistic strategic partner for its development. I would like to thank my team, our customers and our partners for all the progress they have made, with the deep conviction that this new step will give us additional resources and offer us exceptional synergies to conquer new markets.”
