Expanding Innovations Gains 510(k) for X-Pac Expandable Lateral Cage

Expanding Innovations received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the X-PAC Expandable Lateral Cage System (X-PAC LLIF). This complements the company’s expandable product portfolio, which also includes the X-PAC Expandable Posterior Cage System (X-PAC TLIF).

The mechanism of the X-Pac Expandable Lumbar Cage is designed to provide controlled expansion of both height and lordosis to allow for intra-operative adjustment, depending on the patient’s anatomy. A differentiated lock ramp feature built into the cage endplates leaves a large available graft space inside the cage for post-graft packing. These benefits support surgeons’ ability to tailor treatment options for patients undergoing spinal fusion surgery.
