Medartis, a specialized orthopedic company for upper and lower extremity surgery, today announced favorable first clinical uses of its LapiPrep Lapidus Correction and Preparation System. The system is the second legacy Nextremity Solutions, Inc. product to achieve this milestone since the company was acquired by Medartis, Inc. (Basel, Switzerland) in May of this year.
The new Lapidus system allows the surgeon to both correct and continue usly adjust all planes of deformity, including the transverse, frontal and sagittal planes, throughout the procedure.
The system’s design provides distraction of the joint space during joint prep and the required amount of compression needed before the surgeon proceeds with their preferred form of fixation.
Nextremity Solutions, a fully owned subsidiary of Medartis, is the legal manufacturer of the LapiPrep Lapidus Correction and Preparation System, which is currently in limited launch.
