Accu-Tube has two different stock sizes of thick-wall tubing available for orthopedic device companies to test on their device projects. Stainless steel offers good formability, good corrosion resistance and minimal distortion when heat treated.
Stock thick-wall tubing available:
- Material: 17-7 stainless steel
- Sizes: 0.250 x 0.134″ and 0.315 x 0.214″
- Lengths: 48″
Accu-Tube realized an opportunity in 2020 with the acquisition of Mercury Tube, which manufactures larger-diameter stainless steel tubing than traditional medical device tubing fabricators.
Engineering teams from both sites collaborated to develop a new innovation: thick-wall tubing that is welded and drawn rather than gun drilled. This new tubing can replace gun drilled/seamless stock for some applications.
