
Klingel medical metal acquired Ruetschi Technology. Ruetschi is a contract manufacturer of implants and instruments for the medical industry with a focus on sterile-packaged procedure kits for spine surgery, orthopedics and dental implantology.
Through this acquisition, Klingel intends to further strengthen its leading position as a MedTech contract manufacturer in Europe and as a partner of top global customers with the highest quality requirements.
Ruetschi was founded in 1960 and employs more than 200 people at three sites in Muntelier and Yverdon-les-Bains (Switzerland) and Renquishausen (Germany). Like Klingel, Ruetschi is a “one-stop-shop” partner with extensive expertise in product development, technical planning and product innovation, as well as regulatory requirements. Ruetschi operates state-of-the-art machinery and serves a large number of leading OEM customers in the medical technology sector.
Klingel now has four subsidiaries, comprising 850 employees, 40,000m² of production space and well over 400 production machines. “We can now, in addition to CNC machining, surface technology, assembly, labelling and sterile packaging of surgical instruments, implants and general, precision-engineered components, also offer cleanroom plastic injection, five-axis grinding of surgical cutting tools such as dental drills, reamers, etc., 3D metal printing, the development of surgical reusable and single-use instruments and complete procedure kits on a validated basis, in accordance with the MDR,” said CEO Ralf Petrawitz.
