China-based Additive Manufacturer Gains Regulatory Clearance for Spinal Fusion Cages

Huaxing, a China-based provider of additive manufacturing, was granted regulatory clearance from the National Medical Products Administration for titanium porous spinal fusion cages produced on Farsoon metal additive manufacturing machines.

These spinal cages are reportedly the first orthopedic implants to be additively manufactured by laser beam powder bed fusion in China.

“This is a ground-breaking day for metal 3D printing in the Chinese medical market,” said Mr. Li Xinghua, Head of Marketing from Huaxiang Group. “I’m grateful for joining a such strong team with Dr. Wang and industry additive manufacturing leader Farsoon Technologies for this journey.
