Materialise has tested and certified HP 3D printers through its Mimics inPrint certification program. HP represents the seventh system to receive certification with inPrint software.
The certification ensures that medical professionals can safely use HP 580 series printers, in combination with Mimics inPrint software, to create patient-specific anatomical models for diagnostics and surgical planning.
Materialise was the first company to receive FDA clearance for software intended for 3D printing anatomical models for diagnostic and surgical planning uses and introduced a program for manufacturers to have their printers tested and validated. HP’s certification further supports medical professionals interested in implementing 3D printing in their practice by facilitating the creation of point-of-care 3D printing facilities in hospitals.
Materialise’s testing certifies that when used in combination with Mimics inPrint software and in compliance with relevant quality assurance standards and in accordance to manufacturer instructions, a printer is capable of printing models suitable for use in surgical planning and multidisciplinary communication.
