SLM Solutions Names New Chief of Sales Officer

SLM Solutions announced that Dr. Axel Schulz has joined the company’s management board as Chief Sales Officer as of February 1, 2018.

Dr. Schulz takes over responsibility for the company’s sales, marketing, business development, service and 3D metals departments. Dr. Schulz’s experience includes the CEO position of German concrete plate manufacturer Putzmeister.

SLM Solutions, based in Germany, produces laser machines for metal-based additive manufacturing with customers in the healthcare, aerospace, energy and automotive industries. The company was to be acquired by GE in September of 2016, but those plans were abandoned one month later.
