UFP Technologies Expands FlexShield Sterile Barrier Protection

UFP Technologies expanded its FlexShield® line to include sterile barrier integrity protection for virtually any medical device.

FlexShield medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) films provide puncture and abrasion resistance, of particular use in the packaging of fixation plates, hip stems, surgical screws, trocars, and surgical saw blades. Barrier products include packaging pouches, tip protectors and bags that can be formed into unique shapes for devices.

Current applications include:

• Sterile barrier integrity protection for medical equipment
• Robotics components
• Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device components
• Within sterile barrier packaging systems
• Orthopaedic implant sleeves
