Secant Medical Expands Polymer Synthesis and Analytical Capabilities with New Lab

Secant Medical established a new lab to perform polymer synthesis and analytical characterization of polymers, biomaterials and fibers. Capabilities include scanning electron microscopy, elemental detection, infrared spectroscopy and imaging, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, melt-flow rheometry, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis and light microscopy.

Secant Medical designs and manufactures biomedical textiles and other structures for medical devices. The lab is intended to support a deeper understanding of the interaction of biomaterials, from their composition and interaction with cell biology to how they will ultimately impact device technology.
